Quantity Surveyor
Description
Estimate costs for projects based on an analysis of project technical requirement. Collate and analyze all project costs, including raw materials, labour, equipment and tooling. Produce quotations.
Principal Accountabilities/ Key Result Areas
• Takeoff and Bills of Quantities preparation.
• Prepare project cash flow.
• Takeoff material quantities to prepare for purchase
• Measure and agree on sub-contractor’s payments.
• Active involvement in construction/projects
• Update the rates for bill items according to the market trends
• Collect from time to time from procurement department and vendors, the current market updates of various construction items.
• Obtain material pricing and organize all the information necessary to create and submit proposals and quotations to Clients.
• Prepare projected cost of proposed projects and clients’ requests using company-approved formulas.
• Measure and agree on sub-contractor’s payments.
• Prepare, submit and agree variations.
• Prepare, submit and agree project claims.
• Measure and agree final account.
• Material reconciliation documentation.
• Work with Technical Team coordinators and supervisors; to produce quotations for client approval.
• Using detailed spreadsheets, prepare cost data for proposals and contract negotiations.
• Solicit and review vendor/subcontractor proposals and help with contract negotiations.
• Document total materials needed, including details regarding codes, brands and contact information necessary to process quotations.
• Provide financial reporting, trending data. Perform data analysis and development.
• Work with various involved parties, such as business development, operations managers, facility coordinators, client reps and subcontractors/vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies:
Qualification: This position requires a degree in quantity survey or an engineering degree with some project engineering experience. Minimum 2 years in cost estimating, cost engineering, planning, scheduling and other areas of project controls.
